some sort of fish (shimaya???). it tasted ok, was fully cooked and fully intact. after eating it, the gentleman who shared it with me (Yokoshima) told me it causes gout!
on the left is some salted squid. i guess i didn't realize squid have eyeballs. i ordered the seaweed salad, which Hayato said they didn't have. he offered this instead, saying it tasted similar. i guess. it was a little saltier and fishier than seaweed. on the right is some pork, chinese style. delicious! tender!
Yokoshima made me eat this. fish gizzards!!! it was a little hard to stomach (oh, pun), but together with the seaweed beneath it was actually pretty tasty. creamy! lots of sake!

Damn... I really need to go back there... FOOD, fooD, Food, fOod, foOD, great FoOd!!!!! I'm glad that you tried and liked "Shirako" the fish gizzards! Looks pretty grotesque, but taste GoOoOoooooDDDD, right? Keep eating, drinking, and be merry!!! Oh, also I'm relieved you met some nice Japanese dudes. But don't trust everybody!!! ;) (Ok, I shut up before I start being your mom!)
