i ate it. i was trying to get my first taste of homegrown sushi (so many distractions). there were some language issues on this particular evening (i take the blame). for whatever reason, i googled fugu today and turns out it's pufferfish. poisonous. i survived. it doesn't look like the pufferfish in my head, but whatever...
